Ronald "Ronnie" Lamb, 84 or Clark, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Plymouth UCC Church in Clark. Burial will immediately follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Clark. Visitation will be held the evening prior, Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Furness Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Furness Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Ronnie Lamb often joked that all he was worth was a dozen eggs. Born to Harold and Verna Lamb on May 16, 1942, Harold paid the childbirth expense by giving the midwife a dozen eggs. Looking back on Ronnie's life, it is easy to see he was worth so much more.
Ronnie sipped life slowly. For him, a day outside was a day well spent. He enjoyed caring for the land and loved his livestock. His appreciation for the land was so deep that, in retirement, he often helped his friends with the harvest. Long drives checking on crops and rainfall amounts were the peaceful moments he cherished.
While he enjoyed the quiet moments outside, he equally enjoyed people. He spent his retirement years attending multiple coffee groups daily. He never liked coffee; it was too bitter. For him, it was never about the coffee; it was about the people. He loved gathering with friends and being part of a community, so he never missed.
For Ronnie, conversation and community were life-giving. He loved striking up conversations with strangers at the racetrack and giving back to the Clark community. He was a charter member of the Clark Lions Club in 1977 and remained an active member until his passing. His can and eyeglass collections helped more people than we can count and will live on as his legacy.
Ronnie had a heart that only knew love. In a family full of talkers, he listened. He wanted others to share in the love of conversation and community, often fostering it for others. He brought weekly donut deliveries to the assisted living center and joined fellowship at the men's table after weekly church services.
Ronnie loved deeply. He and his wife Patti were married for 64 years. Often, they could be seen holding hadns as they walked through town and attended their grandchildren's school activities. Together, Ronnie and Patti traveled long miles to support their grandchildren in all they did. Their support and love for family instilled a deep commitment throughout the family.
Survivors include his wife, Patti Lamb; his children, Brenda (Jerry) Monson and Brad (Desi) Lamb; grandchildren Chase (Sadi) Monson, Ally Monson, Baylar Lamb and Ryker Lamb; great-grandchildren: Dominic and Maddox Monson; sister-in-law Joyce Lamb, brother-in-law Larry Hovde and sister-in-law Jeanette (Glen) Warkenthien.
Ronnie is joyfully reunited with his three grandchildren who preceded him in death, Brittany and Zachary Monson and Kahne Lamb. He is also reunited with his parents, Harold and Verna Lamb and in-laws Clarence and Phyllis Pertersen, as well as his siblings, Marilyn (Floyd) Lamb, Myron Lamb and Linda Hovde.
Ronnie lived a life full of love. While he may have joked he was only worth a dozen eggs, he made us all rich in life by showing us how to work hard and care deeply for one another. Ronnie will be greatly missed, but his love will continue to live on in all those who knew him.
