Loren "Chris" Olson, age 59 of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Bradley, was called home to his Savior on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Las Vegas, Nev. with Pastor Tome Unke officiating. A memorial service will be held at the Bradley Community Center in Bradley on Saturday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are by Palm Mortuary.
Loren (Chris) was born in Minneapolis, Minn. to Lyn (Kennedy) Yexley and Les Olson on May 3, 1967. He went to elementary school at Bradley, S.D. and graduated from Clark High School in Clark, S.D. in 1985. He married Michelle Hallstrom on December 27, 1986 in Webster, S.D. God blessed them with two sons, Rayce and Jaron and 39 years of marriage.
Chris worked as an airplane mechanic on F-16s and the Stealth Fighter for the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of Desert Storm and Desert Shield and served in the Air Force from 1987-1996. He worked at Southwest Systems, JBA Engineering and Consulting and then at Country Financial, all in Las Vegas, Nev.
Chris is preceded in death by his son, Rayce and his grandparents. Chris is survived by his wife, Michelle and son, Jaron. His brothers and sisters are Wendy Dunaway of Waupun, Wisc., Jeff Yexley (Kerri) of Bradley, Dawn Lenton of Ramsey, Minn., John Olson (Shino) of Chandler, Ariz., Michael Olson (Edith) of Bonney Lake, Wash. and Diane Botana (Teddy) of Miami, Fla. His other brother and sister are Corey (Jan) Hallstrom of Clark and Julie (Jim) Wallace of Sturgis. His parents are Melinda and Terry Yexley of Bradley and Les Olson and Lynn Cravero of Orting, Wash., and his mother-in-law is Nancy Hallstrom of Webster.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Jones, the nurses at Sunrise Hospital, Infinity Hospice Care, their families at Whitney Elementary and at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Thankfully, they understand and take to heart that by the grace of God, Chris is with Jesus in heaven. Christ is risen! And, so also will we, one day, rise to be with our Savior.
