The Willow Lake School District Board of Education met in special session on March 31, 2026. President Thoreson called the meeting to order at 4:00 P.M. Board Members present: Felberg, Forbes, Knock, Nelson and Thoreson. Also attending were Supt. Lee and Business Manager Burke. Principal Mohr was absent.
All in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Action Item #1: Motion by Nelson, second by Felberg to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Action Item #2: Motion by Forbes, second by Knock to enter executive session pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2 to discuss personnel (SDCL 1-25-2(1) and negotiations (SDCL 1-25-2(4) at 4:01 P.M. Motion carried.
President Thoreson declared the board out of executive session at 5:16 P.M. Board Member Knock left the meeting at this time.
Action Item #3: Motion by Felberg, second by Forbes to accept the resignation of Lori Hovde at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and to thank her for the 29 years of dedicated service to the school district. Motion carried.
The next regular meeting of the Willow Lake School Board will be on April 8, 2026 at 3:30 P.M. in the Willow Lake School Administration Conference Room.
