Richard Ray Barton of Cheney, Wash., was born to Raymond and Esther Barton on April 6, 1943, and passed away on January 4, 2026. He graduated from Bradley High School in 1961.
Richard married Judy Tarbox in 1963, and to this union is one son, Randy. Richard was in the ROTC for four years while in high school. He then joined the Air Force and served for 26 years. During his time in the Air Force, he served two tours in Vietnam.
After retiring, he attended EWU, where he earned his bachelor's degree. Richard then worked at the Eastern State Hospital and retired from there after 20 years.
Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his bike, softball and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
