Lyle Dean Downs, 83 of Scottsbluff, Neb. passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Father Rayappa Konka as Celebrant. A Rosary service will begin at 10:30 A.M. prior to mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church. Lyle was born on January 20, 1942 in Willow Lake, S.D. to Raymond and Eunice Downs. Lyle worked for the railroad but that moved him to Scottsbluff, Neb., where he enjoyed his time with his friends and family.
He enjoyed played his guitar and singing. He loved played music for his grandsons, making trips to see his grandsons in Greeley, Colo. and playing music with his very close friends around the area. Music and his family were his life.
He is survived by his son Darin (Rose) Downs; two grandsons Cody and Joshua Downs of Greeley, Colo.; daughter Dawn Simpson; sister Mrs. Randall (Carolyn) Polzine of Worthington, Minn.; and brother-in-law Lloyd Phillips.
Lyle was preceded in death by hiss parents and three sisters, Vivian Nelson, Diane Phillips and Patricia Bowen.
