Lois Marie Eske, 92, passed away after a long illness to the hands of her Loving God on August 15, 2025.
She was born on March 30, 1933 in Clark, South Dakota and raised on the family farm. Lois went to nursing school and worked as a nurse in various cities but her favorite work was in the maternity wards. She and Elton worked with various church missions including ministries for women in prison.
She was married to Elton Eske for 58 years who predeceased her in 2012. They lived in several cities across the United States and finally settled in the cooler Prescott, A.Z. after Elton's retirement in Phenix, A.Z.
In addition to being predeceased by her husband, she is also predeceased by her son, Bret Eske; parents, Alice Palmquist Shirk; and siblings, Betty Shirk Keyes, Joyce Shirk Brush, and Perry Shirk. She is survived by her daughter Terri Lee Clarke (Ricky) of Lakeland, T.N.; grandchildren Jennifer Shipman (John), Joseph Clarke (Jessica), Andrew (Tess), William (Thomas); great-grandchildren Brett Shipman, Brady Clarke, Miles and Oliver Clarke; and sister Jacquin R. Fuller.
Lois requested her body be donated for medical education and research. A private graveside service in Scottsdale, Arizona for the family will be planned. In lieu of flowers or donations, may those memories bring comfort to those who knew Lois.
