He was born on October 3, 1933 to parents Clarence and Gladys (Frybarger) Lundholm. Clarence was a typical farm boy who enjoyed the farm life. From swimming in the slough with cousins to trapping with his sister, even coming him smelling like a skunk before church on a Sunday morning. He attended school in Bradley through his junior year and then he went to Rapid City to work for a while. He returned and graduated from Wallace High School and began farming on the family farm.
While attending an event with his dad, "Junie," as he was called, caught the eye of Dorothy Jones. They were married in Madison, Minn. on a very hot day, July 2, 1955. They farmed near Bradley for many years and raised their three children, Steven, Roy and Rachelle. Junie was a hard worker raising corn and small grains, including buck wheat and flax while also raising hogs, sheep and cattle. He received the Soil & Moisture Conservation Achievement Program for Clark County District in 1965. Sundays would be time for a drive around the country finding interesting places to check out.
Throughout the years, Junie enjoyed riding motorcycle and snowmobile, hunting, fishing and trying his luck at the casino. In his younger years, he would race motorcycles on the dirt track in Garden City. In later years, he liked to stop to have coffee and visit with the guys at Keller Kountry Korner. Junie's greatest joy was attending his children's and grandchildren's events from 4-H to horseshows to many sporting events. In 2022, Junie and Dorothy moved from the farm to Stony Brook Suites in Watertown. Then in 2024, they moved into The Village of Harmony Hill.
Grateful for sharing Junie's life are his wife of 71 years, Dorothy of Watertown; children: Steven (Connie) Lundholm of Watertown; Roy (Dawn) Lundholm of Fairfield, Calif. and Rachelle (Scott) Bebo of Redfield; grandchildren: Tanner Lundholm of Watertown, Joshua (Jenna) Lundholm of Dixon, Calif., Jordan Lundholm of Fairfield, Calif., Dylan of Fairfield, Calif., Nick (Lauretta) Bebo and Sarah (Colton) Zens, all of Redfield, Mike (Angie) Bevers of Clark and Marie (Matt) Hlavacek of Watertown; and 11 great-grandchildren: Kelie Tousignant, Lillian Lundholm, Aleah and Kya Bebo, Kelby and Sterling Zens, Haley and Hogan Hlavacek and Chris, Jennifer and Ben Bevers.
