Notice is hereby given that Ordinance #04-26, An ordinance amending Article V Definitions of Ordinance 01-14, an ordinance amending Ordinance 03-03, An ordinance establishing zoning regulations for Clark County, South Dakota, as amended was amended by changing the definition of "Family" was duly adopted by the Board of County Commissioners on the 1st of September on the 19th of October, 2026.

AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE V DEFINITIONS OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF CLARK COUNTY ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE 01-14, AS AMENDED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CLARK COUNTY, SOUTH DAKOTA: that Article V DEFINITIONS adopted by Ordinance 01-14, as amended, of the Zoning Ordinance of Clark County by amended by adding the highlighted text in bold and underline font and deleting the highlighted text in strikethrough font as follows:
Family. One (1) or more persons related by blood, marriage, or adoption occupying dwelling unit as an individual housekeeping unit organization all of whom are related to the head of the household within the second degree of kinship — that is, as spouse, parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, or brother or sister of the head of household, including any such relationship arising by marriage or by legal adoption — together with not more than A family may include two (2), but not more than two (2) persons not related by blood, marriage or adoption. Persons whose relationship to the head of the household is more remote than the second degree of kinship, including an aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, or cousin, shall not, by reason of that relationship alone, be counted as members of a single family. This definition shall not include foster families as regulated by the State of South Dakota.
